A Morning with Author Amy Webb: Inclusion, Access, and Art
Saturday, July 23, 2022
9:30 a.m., Green Room
On Saturday, July 23rd from 9:30am to Noon, the Toledo Museum of Art will be hosting an event with author Amy Webb. Amy Webb is the author of Awesomely Emma. Awesomely Emma tells the story of a girl named Emma, a wheelchair user who visits her local art museum on a school field trip and encounters accessibility barriers which lead her to embrace her sense of inner awesome and advocate for herself and others.
Amy Webb will begin the event by reading Awesomely Emma in front of the Toledo Museum of Art’s Apollo mural by Henri Matisse – Matisse is Emma’s favorite author in the book, because he is also an artist with a disability, like Emma. Afterwards, participants will be invited to the Green Room for a casual breakfast where Amy will talk about her experiences, as well as participate in a book signing.
This event is free and preregistration is encouraged.
